Elon Musk Declares Himself a Modi Fan following NY Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with notable American figures from diverse backgrounds, including Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. In response to questions about Twitter and its former CEO's recent allegations against the Indian government, Musk emphasized that the social media platform must abide by local regulations or face potential shutdown. He acknowledged the varying rules and regulations for different forms of governments and pledged to provide the freest speech possible within the framework of the law.

Regarding Tesla's entry into the Indian market, Musk revealed his plans to visit the country next year and expressed confidence in establishing a presence as soon as feasible. He thanked the prime minister for his support and hinted at a forthcoming significant investment in the relationship between Tesla and India. In a separate video statement, Musk commended Prime Minister Modi for his dedication to India, stating that he genuinely cares and is urging them to make substantial investments. Musk also praised India's potential for solar energy investment and described his discussions with the prime minister as excellent.

Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to express his gratitude to Musk for their meeting, highlighting their multifaceted conversations covering topics ranging from energy to spirituality. Musk responded by stating that it was an honor to meet again.

During his visit to the United States, which was extended from June 21-24 upon the invitation of President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, Prime Minister Modi engaged with over two dozen thought leaders from various fields. These included personalities such as astrophysicist and author Neil deGrasse Tyson, Nobel laureate economist Paul Romer, author Nicholas Nassim Taleb, and investor Ray Dalio.
